Katherine Kavanagh, PT, DPT, OCS, and Director of Results Physical Therapy in Gainesville and Fairfax, Virginia, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University and then received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Marymount University. Katie is a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist (OCS) and serves as adjunct faculty at Marymount University in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.
Katie works with the adolescent and adult orthopedic populations and has particularly strong experience in the treatment of the spine, shoulder, and hip joints. Additionally, Katie has completed continuing education in a variety of manual therapy approaches including trigger point dry needling and spinal manipulation.
Katie takes an individualized approach to patient care by designing a program that combines manual therapy with functional movement and strength conditioning with the goal of teaching patients how to optimize their own independence.
